One child, one hour, at a real table. Some materials are provided. The aim is steady skill — not busywork.
Place value, word problems, measurements, money, time, the four arithmetic operations, and other standards required by Arizona State Education will be taught, according to grade and abilities. Multiple curriculums are available in instructions and may offer a child an alternative for learning.
Phonics where it is still weak, fluency where it is slow, and comprehension once the words are no longer a fight.
Handwriting, spelling, and the simple sentence. A child who can write a clear line can later write a paragraph.
This is not a college student with a worksheet packet. It is a retired Arizona certified teacher who has taught with Beyond Textbooks, McGraw Hill, i-Ready, and Singapore curriculum.
One hour is one hour. Pay for the day you use, or take both teaching days in the week.
One focused hour. Best when a child needs a weekly check on math facts, reading fluency, or writing mechanics.
One hour each teaching day. The better path when a child is behind, or when a parent wants the work held twice before the weekend.
Seats are few because the house is a house, not a center. First hour is a working session, not a sales pitch. Ask before you drive from outside Glendale, Peoria, or Surprise.
Lessons are held in Sun City. Enrollment is open only to families in these three cities.
Write the grade, the subject that is hurting, and whether you want one day or both. A reply will confirm whether a Tuesday or Thursday hour is open.
